Daniel Lee Olson, 54, died on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be conducted from the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege on Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Melva Tranmer officiating. Interment will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery.

Mr. Olson was born on March 23, 1947 in Holdrege, the second of two children to Ralph and LeNore (Burkey) Olson.

He attended R-7 School and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1965. He graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics in 1970.

On March 17, 1973 he was united in marriage to Mary Abramson of Orleans. To this union one son, Michael, was born. Mr. Olson was engaged in farming his entire life south of Holdrege. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and collecting-restoring cars of the 1960's. He was a member of the Heartland Cruisers Car Club of Holdrege. He traveled to many classic car shows in the past 15 years. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his son, Mike, in his auto body business.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives from Holdrege are his wife, Mary; his son, Mike; and his mother, LeNore. Other survivors include his sister, JoAnn Kerr, and her husband, Tom; nephews: Ron Kerr and Kelly Kerr, both of Black Hawk, Colo.; aunts, one uncle, many cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, in 1995; father-in-law, LeLand Abramson in 1979; and mother-in-law, Velma Abramson in 1999.

Visitation will be at the Nelson-Harris Funeral Home in Holdrege on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 1-9 p.m. with a family greeting from 2-4 p.m.

A memorial has been established.
