NEW BOSTON, Texas - James Elliott Loar Sr., 59, of New Boston died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at his home..
Mr. Loar was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Holdrege, Neb. He was retired from the Army and as general manager of Red River Parts and Equipment Co., a member of Eagles, Republican Party of Texas and Tapp Memorial United Methodist Church, and a Vietnam veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Paola Loar of New Boston; six children, Maurice Contoleon of Phoenix, James E. Loar II of Texarkana, Chrystal Pelton of New York, Janet Contoleon of New Boston, Vanessa Pope, and Roberto Loar of San Antonio; one brother, Richard Loar of Holdrege; his mother, Hazel Loar of Holdrege; one aunt, Barbara Loar of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bagley officiating. Burial will be in Ringwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
