With sadness we announce the passing of Bill Marshall Leffler, age
74. He was born February 12, 1944 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Delbert
and Stella Leffler. Bill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pat,
son Mitch (Mindy), daughter Meika(Ross Mallett), brother Bert
Leffler (Mel) of Kearney, Nebraska and grandchildren Aidan, Graham
and Shea Leffler and Anika and Quinn Mallett and five nieces and
nephews. Bill graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he
met his wife. After moving to the Seattle area, he became Director
of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Tacoma Community College and
was there until his retirement. Retiring early, Bill focused
full-time on about a thousand disparate and ever-changing interests
and hobbies. He cycled across large segments of the US, wrestled
with woodworking techniques, read rapaciously, saw foreign sights,
perfected pastries, brushed up on the banjo, played ping pong
loyally, and generally lived as deeply as one could ever hope to in
this world. He even nailed the exit, dying peacefully on April 9,
2018.
While there will be no public memorial, if you knew him, you probably realize how lucky you were. We miss him dearly. Memorials can be made to Charley's Fund Fighting Muscular Dystrophy, info@charleysfund.org. Published in The Seattle Times on Apr. 29, 2018 |
