After graduating from High School, I worked for my dad at his Gambles store and then a couple of years at the Holdrege Public Library. Eventually moved to Omaha to attend college. Earned my Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work and a certificate in Gerontology. Figured I would get old one day. Plan worked. My career path has led me around the country. I worked on an Indian Reservation in South Dakota, worked in a rural mental health clinic in Iowa and with the homeless shelters in Omaha. I am currently the Director of Senior Services with The Salvation Army in Omaha. I have 15 neices and nephews that I dearly love. My mom is retired in Florida which means I travel south every February... A snow bird in the making. |
