Eddie Richard Olson, 75 years of age of Holdrege, passed away on
Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Kearney Regional Medical Center at
Kearney, Nebraska. Eddie was born December 6, 1943 in Holdrege,
the younger of two children born to Will E. and Carrie (Larson)
Olson. Eddie received his education from Holdrege Public Schools,
graduating with the class of 1962. He pursued higher education
from Kearney State College for one year.
In 1964, Eddie was inducted into the United States Navy and later served in the reserve capacity. In 1965, Eddie was united in marriage to Deanna Rae “De” Larson and to this union two sons were born: Tragg and Pete. In 1968, Eddie returned from the service and farmed with his brother and later began farming on his own. Eddie and Deanna farmed for sixteen years together before they divorced. On November 26, 1997, Eddie was united in marriage to Judy (Moore) Stevens and they blended two families, including: Scott, Dawn, Brian, Todd and Shauna. Eddie enjoyed collecting and working on old tractors, watching NASCAR, playing cards, and camping and fishing. He was a “people person”, with a contagious laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Beedle and her husband, Jerry; and wife, Judith Olson in 2018. He leaves to celebrate his life; his children: Tragg Olson of Holdrege; and Pete Olson of Grand Island, Nebraska; Scott Moore and his wife, Jean of Castle Rock, Colorado; Dawn Fuecker and her husband, Trent of Holdrege; Brian Moore and his wife, Teresa of Parker, Colorado; Todd Moore and his wife, Janel of Holdrege; and Shauna Stevens of Holdrege; five grandchildren: Trenna Rager and her husband, Chris of Holdrege; Drew Fuecker of Fort Collins, Colorado; Jennifer McGee of Castle Rock, Colorado; and Carson and Dylan Moore of Holdrege; three great-grandchildren: Quincy Lawrence; and Leigha and Lincoln Rager all of Holdrege; his brother, Roger D. Olson and his wife, Betsy of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Roger Kleinsasser and his wife, Margaret of Spearfish; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial Book Signing was held on Monday, May 6, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
