Bio

After graduation from HHS, I attended classes at Midland Lutheran and then Kearney State before running out of money. I then went into the Air Force, was stationed in Greece, and finally at Offutt AFB in Omaha. After my tour of duty was completed, I earned my Marketing degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. After graduation I worked at UNO as Materials Manager. At UNO I met my wife Kathy; we have been married for 26 years. After working at a few technology companies in Omaha, I was recruited by a company in Tempe, AZ, in 1994. We have lived in Gilbert, AZ (suburb of Phoenix) since coming to the Valley. I have been working at American Express since 2000 as a Purchasing Manager in charge of the domestic Management Consulting commodity, where I negotiate and manage the US spend for this highly strategic segment of the company. My wife works for McKesson Medical Surgical as the Executive Assistant to the Regional VP. We have three daughters, Jody, Kelsey and Alyssa: Jody lives with her husband Jamie and daughter Adelle in Philadelphia, and we are expecting our second granddaughter (Evie) in May. Jody and her husband work for Arab World Ministries. Kelsey is a Senior at Concordia University - Irvine, CA where she will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree and certification in Director of Christian Education. She will be assigned to a Lutheran church (hopefully in the Southwest U.S.) and will be working in Youth and Family Ministry. Alyssa is a Freshman at Arizona State University majoring in Child Psychology. In our freetime Kathy and I enjoy spending time with our family and friends, participating in charity walks in the area, traveling, gardening, and going to D'Backs baseball games. We are still Husker and UNO Maverick fans and had a chance to see UNL play in each of their National Champion games at the Fiesta Bowl in the 90's. We are both active in our church. I am currently an Elder and Kathy is on the Parish Education Board. We love Arizona and try to return to Nebraska every couple of years. Since my folks live in Arizona for the Winter, we do not get back to Holdrege very often. We wish we could be at the Reunion this Summer, but because of previous plans we will not be able to attend. Hopefully, we will have a 40th Reunion and will make it a priority to attend that one. If anyone gets to the Phoenix area, look us up. We would love to get re-acquainted.
