 After spending 20 years in Chicago corporations as a public relations exec, I decided to sell my condo downtown, quit my job as Regional PR director for a national telecommunications company, which was bought by AT&T. So I quit the job, hopped on a plane and flew to Tucson, found a lot and built a home that looks right into the mountains. I have a home office and do free lance writing and PR when it comes along. I also come back to the University of NE twice a year to mentor young women students, which is a wonderful involvement through The Cather Circle. The Cather Circle, named after Pulitzer Prize winning NE author Willa Cather (whose Dad was my grandpa Spence's best friend, and my inspiration) includes those they consider outstanding women grads who have achieved great careers. Finally after jobs in Lincoln, NYC, Denver and Chicago, I have time to write my book and read all the books I never had time for. Mostly history (ancient world and US) plus select biographies and autographies.
