I have spent my career mostly in the retail industry. I had the great fortune to be hired as one of the early leaders for a start up e-commerce company. I led a business unit through several acquisitions to the meteoric success of being bought by Walmart e-Commerce - truly from humble beginnings to the Fortune One. While I enjoyed a very successful career and it was comfortable, I was getting restless to do something new. I began to look for opportunities that would feed my soul; specifically in the business of Animal Welfare.

Recently, I accepted a position with Best Friends Animal Society, a national organization dedicated to ending the killing of shelter animals in the United States. My work in Northwest Arkansas is to help envision and build a prototypical animal shelter of the future, working directly with the Walton Family Foundation, the City of Bentonville, Arkansas and Best Friends.

In my spare time, Mike and I continue to be involved in Taysia Blue Rescue, the Husky and Malamute rescue that we founded in 2010. We now have about 200+ volunteers working in six states to help save the lives of these dogs.
