Linda Lou Schwaninger daughter of Elgin Schwaninger and Dorothy (Cook) Schwaninger was born on May 12, 1944 in Beatrice, NE. She was one of 5 children born to this union. Linda graduated in Holdrege, NE in 1962. After high school she worked at Artistic Woven Labels in Holdrege. She was united in marriage to Max C. Bates on June 18,1977. To this marriage one daughter; Amy was born. Linda and Max lived in North Platte, Merna, and settled in Anselmo, NE. Linda was a member of the Custer-Blaine Gideon Axillary and a member at the Open Bible Church in Dunning, NE; Linda and Max moved to Stella, NE in the fall of 2000. She attended the Grace Bible Fellowship Church, she loved playing board games, spending time with her family and painting. Due to ill health Linda entered the Nemaha County Hospital and it is there that on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 she passed away having reached the age of 67 years and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents Elgin and Dorothy. She is survived by her husband Max Bates of Stella, NE; daughter Dr. Amy Bates of Overland Park, KS; sisters Joyce Hoffman and husband Sam of Rancho Cordova, CA; Judy Larson of Holdrege, NE; brothers Roger Schwaninger and wife Phyllis of Glenwood, IA; Rex Schwaninger and wife Margie of Bettendorf, IA; other relatives and friends. |
