Bio

 Much of the time I scramble from one school or sports activity to another; both my sons play football, basketball and baseball--my older son would tell you I force him to play the guitar which is downright mean...ha My husband and I have been married nearly 17 years already. We look forward to spending summers traveling to places other than Nebraska now that the kids are old enough to fly back without us. Hawaii, here we come! I currently chair the English department at Reed High School in Sparks, NV, where we have nearly 2500 students and 18 English teachers. I also spend time speaking and teaching for the National Writing Project as a writing consultant. NWP has provided me with fabulous opportunities to speak across the country as well as contribute to a book which Josey & Bass published in 06. Music is still an important part of my life, and during 06-07 I had an opportunity to sing and worship with a rock-n-roll band--what a thrill working with studio musicians. God has blessed me and my family beyond belief.
