Nancy Marie (McConnell) Larson, 50 years of age, of Funk, Nebraska,
passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at her home in
Funk. Nancy was born February 13, 1960 at the Brewster Hospital in
Holdrege, the eldest of two children of Dale Bobby and Karen Marie
(Shaffer) McConnell.
She received her primary education at Holdrege and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1978. She then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for a year. Nancy then attended the Mary Lanning Nursing School in Hastings, Nebraska, where she received her Registered Nursing degree. On June 16, 1982, she was united in marriage to Dale G. Larson of Funk and to this union two children were born: Matthew Dale and Elly Marie. The family made their home in Funk. Nancy began her nursing career practicing at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege and at Richard Young in Kearney. In the years to follow, Nancy began working in Quality Assurance at Cabella's in Kearney, Nebraska, where she appreciated many friendship bonds formed through the years. She was a good mother, and always concerned with trying to raise her children to the best of her ability. She was confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. Nancy always looked forward to the summers, camping and spending time with the family. She enjoyed attending her children's activities, especially band concerts and baseball games. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs. Nancy enjoyed the friendships of the girls that were part of her supper club. She was preceded in death by her father on March 7, 2010; father-in-law, Don Larson and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Dale of Funk; her two children: Matt Larson and Elly Larson both of Funk; her mother, Karen Marie Hiskett and her husband, Walter of Chandler, Arizona; brother, Dr. David McConnell and his wife, Karen of Kearney; mother-in-law, Merna Larson of Holdrege; and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. |
