 Moved to Holdrege summer of 1961 after Dad retired from the U.S. Army as a Major. We came to Holdrege from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. I got to Holdrege just in time to try out for and made it on the football team, with Coach Keifer. Being that I was only at Holdrege for 1 year I didn't have much time to get to know many people. After graduation in June 1962, joined US Navy. Was sent to San Diego, CA. for Boot Camp or recruit training and then to NATTC Memphis, Tenn. At NATTC Memphis course of study for me was Jet Engines-Maintenance & Testing. Was in Navy from 1962 to 1970. In 1970 was stationed in Maine. Met a Maine girl and married and stayed there for 25 years. Company I was working for moved us to Richmond, Virginia in 1991. Company moved to Czeck Republic in 2004. I decided at that time to move back to Maine and work a few more years and to get ready to retire.
