I was working for Bethphage Mission, Inc., Axtell in the corporate Office at that time. The office moved to Omaha August 1986 & I sold my home. There were 11 of us that made the move. I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment for over 10 years just 2 miles from the Office. Retired October 1996 & purchased a duplex in Kearney & still living in it. I worked for my boss over 30 years.

I go to the YMCA Monday through Friday each week for water aerobotics for an hour each day & three days a week have "land exercise". Belong to a card club that meets once a month & often sub at another card club. Also belong to Bethany Lutheran Church, Axtell & a Circle that meets once a month 10 times each year. Try to visit friends & shut ins real often. Like to read & have done some crocheting.

I have 7 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.

My son, Carroll & wife, Janice live in Axtell. He farms around Axtell. Janice is part time secretary at Bethany Lutheran Church & also sub mail carrier. They have a daughter, Laura (32) who has been married 2 years & just recently sold their home here in Kearney & purchased a country home 8 miles west of Aurora. She owns "The Harbor" a gift shop in Grand Island & her husband, Gary Jacobsen owns a used car business both in Grand Island & Kearney. Carroll's son, Clark (28) works & lives in Omaha the past 3 years.

Keith & wife, Bonnie live in Prior Lake, MN. He works for a construction company making sheet metal for furnaces & air conditioners. Bonnie has a Day Care business in their home. Their two sons, Jim (35) & Jayson (32) live in Sioux Falls & Hudson, SD. Jim has 2 children, Cody (7) & Cassie (3). They both work for construction companies, sheet metal & electrical.

Karen married Jerry Gilbreath who has been Lutheran pastor for 12 years. They have 3 children, Stacey (27), Mike (25) & Emily (22). Stacey was divorced 2 years ago & is being married to David Neff in Commerce City, CO July 14. Mike & Holly (his wife of 3 years this August) live in Bloomington, IN where he will be in his third year of Optomery College. Holly is a Special Ed teacher. Emily lives here in Kearney & this fall will be a Senior at UNK & will graduate in May. She hopes to be accepted to a College to become a Physical Therapist. Jerry & Karen lived in Kearney for 7 years & he was Associate Pastor at 1st Lutheran but moved to South Sioux City, NE February 2006. Karen works full time in the Dunes, SD (just 7 miles from their home) for 6 Urology Doctors.
