Self employed Physical Therapist

Attended Augustana College, Rock Island Illinois 62 to 64; pre med/voice major, played football and basketball for 2 years. Graduated from Univ. of Nebraska in 1966. Had a blind date with Claudia Parkes in March of 66; neither of us had contemplated marriage but engaged in July and married in December of 66. 2 years at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Tx. Moved to Kentucky where I worked in rural hospitals until going to graduate school and was an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. We lived in Berea, Ky. where we enjoyed many wonderful friends and watched our children as they prospered. We had originally planned to spend 2 years in Kentucky but found ourselves imbedded in the community with theater, school, sports and my parents who moved to Berea after retiring. My mother died on Father's Day in 1978; a day I'll never forget. Her death opened a door for us to move to California where we had always planned on living; Claudia's birth state and although an Air Force brat who lived all over the world she always considered California home. In private practice in Sacramento for 20 years as well as teaching in the Physical Therapy program at Sacramento State University and now living in the Gold Country of northen California on 10 acres at the end of a mile long gravel road with mega animals. Claudia is a humane educator having worked in animal shelters for 20 years. My father moved to California with us and died in 1985. Two wonderful children and son and daughter in law and just recently our 4th grandchild; 2 boys and 2 girls. I am a private contractor working at Mule Creek State Prison 15 minutes from our farm. A very interesting environment and remarkable orthopedic problems which is my speciality. My life is wonderful. My years in Holdrege have much to do with who I am. Even now, nearly 47 years after leaving home, almost daily something takes me back to the memories of growing up with all of you. I will always cherish my life in Holdrege. GO DUSTERS!!
