Sue Murphy (Shively)

KEARNEY - Sue Carol Murphy, 58, of Kearney died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary with the Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today and one hour before service time Friday at the mortuary.

She was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Holdrege to David and Charlotte (Renquist) Shively.

On Aug. 24, 1981, she married Dennis Murphy in Holdrege.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Robert Corder of Gibbon and Jessie of Kearney; daughter, Debra Wohlers of Holdrege; her mother, of Holdrege; brother, Craig Shively of Holdrege; sister, Kathie Schnell of Blue Hill; and half brother, Jimmie Hansen of Lincoln.

Additional survivors include her son-in-law, Randy Wohlers of Holdrege; and granddaughter, Nicole Clements of Holdrege.

She grew up in Holdrege and graduated from Holdrege High School.

She lived in Denver, moved to Scottsbluff where she was employed at Vic’s Pizza Palace and then moved to Holdrege and was employed at Christian Homes.

In 1981, she went through alcohol treatment at Valley Hope and started her new life.

She and her husband moved to Kearney in 1983 and started S&M Painting Company.

She attended Family of Christ Lutheran Church and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

She was preceded in death by her father; half brother, Rod Hansen; and son-in-law, Richard Clements Jr.
