Survived by his younger sisters Kathy L. Kirkland (MT) and Peg L. Schwinck (CA). Nephew Trevor Walter, niece-in-law Kerry Walter, niece Rebecca A. Kirkland and 3 grand nephews (Garret, Robert and Sammual Walter).

Though confined to a wheelchair from the age of 27 (from a logging accident), Alan loved nothing more than the time he spent hunting, fishing and camping.

Preceded in death by his parents Dowaine A. and Edna C. (McFarland) Schwinck.

Ashes spread in the Grand Teton Mountains, WY.
