Linda Slater
Linda Ann Slater, 18, died at a local hosital Thursday afternoon, August 12, 1965, following an illness of approximately two and one-half years. Linda was a senior in the Holdrege high school and was very active in all phases of activities as long as health permitted. She was a member of the Holdrege Methodist church where she took part in both the church and the Methodist Youth Fellowship work.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Slater, two sisters, Vickie and Peggy and one brother, Jerry; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Slater and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Philips, all of Holdrege.
Funeral services will be in the Methodist church on Monday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m.. with the Rev. Virgil A. Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Home cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Stan Leff, George Nelson, Scott Johnson, Dan Baker, Jerry Hammond, Steve Illingworth, Robert Reiner and Bill Young. Music will be furnished by Keith Johnson as soloist, and Mrs. Virgil Anderson as organist. The Harris funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that memorials may be given to the hymnal fund of the Methodist church.
